Two-part TV movie . Donna Mills plays Joyce Lukezic, a well-off Phoenix businesswoman/homemaker accused of murder. She knows, and we know, that she didn't do it. The double homicide was the handiwork of her sleazy husband Robert Wagner, who works diligently behind the scenes to make certain his wife is convicted. Part two of False Arrest was telecast three days later, with Joyce fending off hostile and sexually abusive inmates, courting a nervous breakdown, and battling to have her conviction overturned.

FIRST TIME IS THE LAST TIME (1989)
director: Raymond Leung

cast: Carrie Ng, Andy LauI

t's about the brutal reality of a woman's prison , Carrie Ng stars as "Crazy Bitch" Winnie; flashbacks reveal how Winnie earned her nickname, the romance with her boyfriend(Andy Lau), while furious and often unpleasant action keeps the story moving inexorably forward to its explosive conclusion. Other main roles are played by Season Ma Si-San as an innocent first-time convict (known by her number, 7144) and Meg Lam Kin-Ming as an unexpectedly maternal prisoner. The supporting players (including Andy Lau Tak-Wah as a boyfriend of one of the characters) may appear stereotypical (nearly unavoidable in the prison genre), yet unique identities are carved out, thanks in part to the unglamorous, down-and-dirty direction by Ramond Leung..........

FIVE GATES TO HELL (1959)

directed by: James Clavell
cast: Neville Brand, Patricia Owens, Dolores Michaels

The story takes place in French Indochina (later Vietnam) where a group of two Red Cross doctors and seven nurses are captured by a guerrilla band and taken to the side of a grievously ill warlord. The realities of war and its effects on everyone are brought forward as the doctors are eventually killed, and the nurses use sex as a means of escaping their captors. Brutal scenes of the stabbing of a patient under surgery and the symbolic murder of a nun are qualified by the even-handed portrayal of the damage war does to the human side of human nature.

directed by Tinto Brass

A blockhuster in Europe, this sex film by the director who would later direct and disown CALIGULA, directly inspired most of the European entries that followed in the next two years. The SS High Command brothel is to serve as recreation spot for soldiers on leave from the front. They stock the house with willing freulein's and subject them to a lurid (and ridiculous) training session. The seasoned Madame Kitty is choosen to head up the club which is wired so that traitors can found out.

FREEWAY (1996)
directed by Matthew Bright
cast: Reese Witherspoom, Keifer Sutherland,Amanda Plummer, Brooke Shields

One hell of a little Red Riding Hood tale. Vanessa (Reese Witherspoon) has a run in with a yuppie serial killer played by Keifer Sutherland. After shooting half his face off in a bungled rape/mueder attempt she's sent to the iron bar hotel. When inside Vanessa makes a big break out, and is stalked by the grotesque monster that Sutherland has become. This is one hyper violent flick that really delivers the goods. Even though the big house stint is brief, it is played up for maximum value. This whole production looks great with beautiful cinematography, fast paced stedicam movement, and wicked over the top performances. I highly recommend checking it out. Produced by Oliver Stone on the heels of Natural Born Killers.
